1. Using Kado

These terms cover the Kado app, this website and Kado’s connection for AI assistants (together, “Kado”). By using Kado you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Kado. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter a contract where you live, to use Kado.

2. What Kado is, and is not

Kado helps you keep track of your credit cards, their benefits and fees, and compare them. It shows estimates worked out from what you enter and from a catalog of card terms that we maintain.

Kado is not financial, tax or legal advice, and it is not a bank, a lender or a card issuer. Card terms, rewards, fees, credits, transfer ratios and issuer rules change often and can be out of date or wrong. Confirm them with the issuer before you apply for, keep, close or use a card, or transfer points. You are responsible for your financial decisions.

3. Your account and your wallet

Kado creates a private account for you when you open it, and you can sign in with Apple or Google to keep it across devices. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

The cards, dates and figures you enter are yours. You give us the right to store and process them to run Kado for you, as described in the privacy policy. Please enter accurate information: Kado’s numbers are only as good as what it is given.

4. AI assistants

You may connect an AI assistant to your wallet, and you decide which ones. An assistant you connect can read your wallet and, only after you say yes, change it. You are responsible for what you approve. We are not responsible for what an assistant says or does with information it has read, which is governed by that assistant’s own terms. You can undo changes and disconnect an assistant at any time in Kado.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse Kado. That includes: breaking the law with it; trying to access another person’s wallet or account; probing, overloading or disrupting the service; scraping or copying the catalog in bulk; reverse engineering Kado except where the law allows; or building a connection to Kado that hides who it is or what it does from the person approving it.

6. Our content

Kado’s software, design, catalog and text belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Kado for your own use. Card names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners; their use in Kado is to identify their products.

7. Ending your use

You can stop using Kado at any time and delete your account from Settings, which permanently deletes your wallet. We may suspend or end access to Kado if you break these terms or to protect the service or other people. We may also change or discontinue features, and if we discontinue Kado as a whole we will give notice and a chance to export your wallet first.

8. No warranty

Kado is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will suit your needs, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Kado and the people behind it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings, rewards or data, arising from your use of Kado or reliance on what it shows. Our total liability for any claim relating to Kado is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Kado in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Some places do not allow these limits, and in those places they apply as far as the law permits.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date above, and if a change matters, we will tell you in Kado. Using Kado after a change takes effect means you accept it.
